Griset collection
Collected and digitised by their descendants, the Griset collection brings together family documents relating to the musical activities of husband and wife, Jules and Marguerite Griset, and their children. A rich store of correspondence reveals their friendships with a large number of Belle Époque musicians, as evidenced by signed photographs and two lavishly filled libri amicorum. Sets of photographs and a file of concert programmes provide added information about their musical activities, both in amateur and professional fields.
This collection also contains the manuscript of À la musique, Chabrier’s ode specially composed for the inauguration of Griset’s building, on Place de Laborde in Paris (now Place Henri Bergson)
