Marsick collection

Marsick collection

This collection of family archives belongs to Jacques Marsick, a descendant of Martin-Pierre (1847-1924) and Armand (1877-1959) Marsick: the former, a virtuoso violinist, professor at the Paris Conservatoire and composer; the latter, a composer, conductor and teacher. These documents have been digitised  by their owner and, in March 2016, were made available online by the Palazzetto Bru Zane.

They showcase the Marsick family’s extensive network of musical and extra-musical acquaintances and provide a wealth of information about the social structure of musical life  in Europe during the years of the French Third Republic.
