Mel Bonis collection
This documentary collection, which results from the digitization of the archives held by the Association Mel Bonis (stemming from papers preserved by the composer’s family, currently under the responsibility of Christine Géliot), includes letters received by the artist, photographs and various documents related to her musical activity: from a notebook kept during her composition lessons with Charles Koechlin to catalogues of her works, including competition diplomas and the covers of pedagogical scores.
This on-line release complements the publication of the book Mel Bonis (1858-1937). Parcours d’une compositrice de la Belle Époque, edited by Étienne Jardin (Actes Sud / Palazzetto Bru Zane, April 2020).
